What to expect

6 December, St Nicholas Day (Nikulden), is Burgas's city holiday and a feast for fishermen and sailors, traditionally marked with fish dishes. The Regional Historical Museum presents a traditional Nikulden ritual table and explains the customs behind it. Entry is free, and other city celebrations take place the same day.
