1. Who provides the site
ExpatBG.com is operated by МЕДИАПОЛИС ГРУП ЕООД (MEDIAPOLIS GROUP Ltd.), EIK 204743576, VAT number BG204743576, registered address: 36 Polkovnik Sava Mutkurov Street, floor 3, apartment 3, Plovdiv 4003, Bulgaria (“ExpatBG”, “we”, “us”). 2. Agreement and eligibility
These terms apply when you visit or use ExpatBG, create an account, submit content, or buy a Featured placement. When you create an account, you must confirm that you are at least 16 and accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use member-only features. Mandatory rights under consumer law continue to apply where relevant.
3. Accounts
Give accurate information, keep your sign-in details private, and tell us if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. You are responsible for activity through your account unless it resulted from our failure to meet a legal duty. Do not create an account for another person without their authority or create accounts to evade a suspension.
4. Guides and directory
ExpatBG provides guides, community content, business and event listings, and links to other services. Guides are general information, not legal, immigration, tax, medical or other professional advice. Rules and circumstances change; check important matters with the relevant authority or a qualified professional before acting.
We work to keep information useful, but listings and user submissions may be incomplete, out of date or supplied by third parties. A listing or rating is not a recommendation or guarantee by ExpatBG.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of content you submit. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit it and that it does not infringe another person’s rights or disclose their personal information without a lawful basis.
You give Mediapolis Group a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, format, reproduce and display your submission on ExpatBG, and to make it available to visitors where you choose to publish it. We may use technical copies and resized images to operate the site. We do not receive ownership of your content. This licence ends when the content is removed, except for copies retained temporarily in backups, records required by law, or copies outside our control such as search-engine caches.
6. Community rules and moderation
Do not submit unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, discriminatory, infringing or sexually exploitative material; spam; fake ratings; or advertising that is not clearly disclosed. Do not impersonate another person, misuse another member’s account, interfere with the site, or post sensitive personal information that should not be public.
We review member submissions and may reject, edit for formatting, hide or remove content that appears to break these terms or the law. We may restrict or suspend an account for serious or repeated breaches. Where practicable, we will tell you what action we took and why. You can ask us to review a decision by emailing hello@expatbg.com.
To report content you believe is illegal or violates these rules, use our contact form and include the page link, identify the content, explain the issue, and provide a reply address. We review reports manually.
7. Businesses and events
A business or event organiser is responsible for the accuracy, legality and updating of its own submission, including prices, dates, availability, permissions and contact details. We may check or moderate listings, but a “verified” label only describes the checks shown on the listing; it is not a guarantee of quality or future performance.
A quote request is sent to the business you select when you consent to sharing it. The business—not ExpatBG—decides whether to respond and is responsible for its quote, service, contract and dealings with you. Event organisers set ticket prices and sell admission themselves. ExpatBG does not sell event tickets or collect ticket payments.
8. Paid Featured placements
Business owners and event organisers may buy a Featured placement for the duration and price shown before checkout. A Featured package is a one-time purchase and does not renew automatically. Featured packages are available through the Get featured button in your account after your listing or event is published.
The current site integration uses Stripe Checkout. PayPal is not currently available through ExpatBG. Payment confirmation and package details are sent to the account email. If you believe a payment was taken in error or a paid placement was not provided, contact hello@expatbg.com with the purchase details.
If you buy as a consumer, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from an online service contract, normally within 14 days. The right and any amount payable for a service you have expressly asked us to start during that period are determined by applicable consumer law. To exercise a withdrawal right or report a payment problem, email us using the contact details in section 11. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Third-party services
The site may link to a business, event organiser, payment provider or other external website. Those services are operated under their own terms and privacy policies. ExpatBG does not control their content or services. If a page contains a paid placement or affiliate link, we will identify the commercial relationship where required.
10. Site availability and responsibility
We may update, suspend or discontinue parts of the site for maintenance, security, legal reasons or operational changes. We aim to keep the site available but cannot promise uninterrupted access or that every item of information is error-free.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility for fraud, deliberate misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of mandatory consumer rights, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for independent dealings between users and third-party businesses or event organisers.
11. Closing an account and contact
You can stop using the site at any time. To request account closure or removal of a submission you cannot delete yourself, email privacy@expatbg.com. We may retain information where the law requires it or where it is needed to handle a legal claim. Closing an account does not cancel a separate purchase; contact us about a paid placement.
