What to expect
Kinomania has brought the year's most talked-about festival films to Sofia since 1987. The 40th edition opens on 12 November with Martin McDonagh's Wild Horse Nine and includes the French Film Festival, Zvyagintsev's Minotaur and Mungiu's Fjord. Most films are shown in their original language with Bulgarian subtitles, so check each screening if you need English.
