Overview

Is Bansko right for you?

Bansko is a small mountain town below the Pirin mountains in southwest Bulgaria. Winter brings skiers from all over Europe, while the rest of the year is calm and green.

Low costs, coworking spaces and easy access to nature have made it one of Europe’s best-known bases for remote workers. The Bansko Nomad Fest each summer brings hundreds of them to town.

The old town has stone houses, cobbled lanes and traditional taverns. Pirin National Park, a UNESCO site, starts on the edge of town, and hot springs are a short drive away.

It is a small town, so many services, specialists and offices are in Blagoevgrad or Sofia. Short-term rents rise in ski season, but long-term rents stay low. Winter heating bills can be high.
